The Innately Science Podcast

From hands-on workshops to audio adventures — welcome to the next chapter of Innately Science.

Our new podcast explores science communication through the power of sound. It’s a space where we unravel big ideas, small wonders, and everything in between — through conversation, storytelling, and curiosity-driven exploration.

While our workshops brought science to life through movement, art, and tactile experiences, the Innately Science Podcast invites listeners into a slower, more reflective space. Here, we explore what it means to think like a scientist, communicate with empathy, and stay curious — wherever you are, no lab coat required.

This podcast is for the wonderers, the educators, the creators, and the lifelong learners — anyone who believes science isn’t just about answers, but about asking questions.

Meet the Voice Behind the Podcast – Daniel Underwood

At the heart of the Innately Science Podcast is Daniel Underwood, the creative mind and calm voice guiding us through each episode.

With a deep interest in the human side of science, Daniel curates and hosts conversations that go beyond the surface - weaving together stories, insights, and reflections that challenge how we think, feel, and communicate about science.

Daniel brings a unique ability to listen deeply and ask the kinds of questions that open up new ways of seeing the world. Through this podcast, he’s crafting a collection of meaningful dialogues that invite us to explore science not just as a subject, but as a way of being.

We’re incredibly proud to have him leading this new chapter of Innately Science.

  • Daniel is a final year PhD student at the University of Aberdeen interested in the bacteria-host interface. He started out in a BioMed degree, but as it went along, found himself being drawn further and further into the world of research. That led him to the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and then up to Scotland.

Daniel is the driving force behind our fascinating interviews with researchers, bringing their groundbreaking discoveries and insights to life.
